France 24’s four channels, in French, English, Arabic and Spanish,
have enhanced their editorial offering to be as close as possible to our
audience and cover all the major international news.
Our programmes are adapted to a fast-changing world in which
geopolitical and ecological crises are multiplying, not to mention the
technological revolutions that sometimes fuel misinformation.
France 24 is now geared with new information segments and more live
coverage. However, live coverage does not mean going faster; on the
contrary, it is about taking the time to go out into the f ield to check the
news, and to explain, analyse, and contextualise the events in order to
better understand the issues at stake.
Every day, our programmes and exclusive reports dissect 3 or 4 major
international news from different angles, with reports from our
200 correspondent networks around the world and our 540 journalists
of 40 different nationalities. Such a commitment allows us to always
stay as close as possible to the events.
We are going to take the time to listen to all the voices and opinions.
Take the time to debunk the fake news that f loods our social media.
Take the time to investigate, but also adopt a lighter approach to avoid
‘information fatigue’ by discussing f ilm, theatre, music and sport. And
indeed, 2024 has been a great sporting year for us with the Olympic
and Paralympic Games in Paris!
In concrete terms, we are strengthening our programme schedules by
adapting them to all our viewers. The emphasis is placed on African
news on the French channel, with ‘Journal de l’Afrique’ now available
seven days a week, while the weekends are dedicated particularly to
social, cultural, and health topics. Our weekend evening content on the
Arabic-language channel has also been refurbished, with more live
broadcasts, features and analysis. Meanwhile, the English-language
channel is expanding its news coverage across all time zones, with a
particular focus on Asia. Last but not least, the channel in Spanish has
also launched a new look.
All these new programmes are rolled out across our digital platforms,
from websites to social media, as we offer 360° news.
